Fratwurst has headlined comedy clubs across Toronto and will be performing at the 2011 TOsketchfest. Read on to find out more!
Theatromania: Describe Fratwurst in one sentence.
Fratwurst: Like the Beatles, but not as funny.
Theatromania: Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
Fratwurst: Happy 26th birthday, Eric!
Theatromania: What’s the worst experience you’ve had on stage? The best?
Fratwurst: Worst: doing the paraplegic Santa Claus sketch at Comedy Bar, with Eric playing audio cues off of a tape recorder into a microphone under his blanket (although Eric considers this a success). Best: getting a standing ovation after our set at Sketchfest 2010 (at least I think it was a standing ovation, people might have just been scrambling to the exits).
Theatromania: What excites you most about TOsketchfest?
Fratwurst: Being able to do two sets with some amazing out of town acts who we’ve never seen. Being able to see their stuff and show them ours. And getting drunk enough to have the courage to put up our paraplegic Santa Claus sketch again.
Theatromania: What’s next for Fratwurst?
Fratwurst: Immediately after this interview? Playing Addams Family for Super Nintendo. In the not too distant future? Finding more fun questions like these to answer! In the unforseeable future? That’s a trick question, it’s unforseeable.
Catch Fratwurst on November 11 and 13, 2011 (7pm) at Comedy Bar. Visit torontosketchfest.com for more information.
